Because we want to have the best equipment in the car, we startet today with a big cleaning action. Five hours long we washed the car and now it is looking like at the first day... almost! Anyway, we are proud of our car! |
04/26/2002:
We landed at the airport of Windhoek! With all our luggage and without discussions at customs we were collected and brought to the farm where our car was parked the last 8 months. A nice welcome was the three-month-old Kudu at the breakfast table that was found lost at a fence on the farm. The farmers fed it and now it's quite used to people.
After that we packed our stuff into the car and drove of to Windhoek. Now the journey starts! |

Today we had our farewell-party. We still are not on the way, but time is flying and we are really happy that we were able to meet so many friends once again before we leave. Thank you all for coming! Alltogether 50 people found their way to us (between 2 pm and 3am) - thank you all for coming! We hope you had as much fun as we had! |

Even if our book of "certificates of vaccinations" are already full, we have still a lot of vaccinations to do. We will enjoy eight injections to be resistant against rabies, japanese encephllitis and "Meningokokken-Meningitis" (whatever it may be in english). |

We joined an course in First Aid at the German Red Cross. We thought it's time to fresh-up our basic knowledge in how to help in case of an emergency. We are sure that this is quite necessary, not just in case of an trip around the world. |
